Surgical Operating Microscopes

High-powered magnification for unparalleled precision and accuracy. Surgical operating microscopes provide magnification and illumination that allows for clear visualization of root canal anatomy, missed canals, tooth fractures and foreign objects (ie broken instruments or debris). Microscopes in endodontics are the standard of care and are essential for microsurgical treatment which ensures the best clinical outcomes.

Key features

  • Enhanced vision which allows for identification of key elements in the tooth that would otherwise be missed leading to possible treatment failure
  • Improved diagnosis
  • More accurate treatment execution, leading to better success
  • Standard of care in endodontics due to the constant need for precision

3D Cone Beam CT

Three-dimensional imaging for comprehensive diagnosis and treatment planning. Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) provides detailed 3D images of teeth and surrounding bone, which often reveal irregular root anatomy or lesions (dental infection or other pathology) that cannot be seen on traditional 2D dental radiographs. These digital images provide valuable information that often affect clinical decisions and outcomes.

Key features

  • In-depth assessment of root canal morphology which ensures predictable treatment of the entire root canal system and improves clinical outcomes
  • Identification of pathology or infection not visible on traditional radiographs
  • Identification of root fractures or structural root damage that may affect the prognosis of the tooth
  • Small FOV (field of view) results in low radiation dose

Laser-Activated Irrigation

Photoacoustic streaming created by laser energy to effectively clean the root canal space. The Fotona LightWalker Er:YAG laser generates cavitation bubbles in the tooth that results in fluid movement capable of dissolving tissue, disrupting biofilm and eliminating bacteria. The process allows endodontic irrigation fluids to penetrate into complex anatomical spaces deep in the root that are not accessible with traditional techniques.

Key features

  • Disinfects the root canal space more effectively than traditional methods
  • Allows for minimally invasive treatment which preserves more tooth structure
  • Efficiently removes pulp tissue/bacteria so treatment can be performed in one visit
  • Reduces post-op pain and infection
  • Improves clinical outcomes and healing

Multisonic Irrigation

Acoustic waves and fluid movement that maximizes canal disinfection and pulp removal. Multisonic irrigation, using the GentleWave procedure, thoroughly cleans and disinfects the root canal system. The device uses sound energy and vapor bubbles that implode in the tooth to send endodontic irrigation fluids into complex anatomical spaces deep in the root that are not accessible with traditional techniques.

Ultrasonic Instrumentation and Ni-Ti Rotary Files

Conservative, precise cleaning and shaping of the root canal system. Ultrasonic instruments use vibration and fine tips to treat the root canal system without unnecessary loss of tooth structure, as well as to remove foreign materials (posts or broken files). Ni-Ti rotary files are flexible specialty instruments designed for safe and efficient removal of the pulp tissue while respecting the natural shape of the canal space.

Key features

  • State-of-the-art technology to carry out precise and thorough root canal treatment
  • Specially designed instruments allow for conservative treatment that maintain the integrity of the tooth structure
  • Assists in removal of obstacles in the tooth that would otherwise lead to failure
  • Safe and effective performance which improves clinical outcomes

Digital Radiography

Reduced radiation exposure with instant, high-resolution images. Digital intra-oral radiographs are used routinely in endodontics to assess teeth in a fast and safe manner, using digital sensors and a chairside computer. The images require less radiation and are captured instantly using a software that can manipulate the image to extract much more valuable information compared to conventional radiographs.

Key features

  • Low-dose radiation maximizes patient safety
  • Improved image clarity and reduced treatment time
  • Manipulation of the image can reveal critical information
  • Allows for real-time assessment and easy patient education
  • Easy to share data with expanded dental team (referring dentist)

Bioceramics

Biocompatible endodontic materials that seal the root canal system and promote healing. Bioceramics seal the root canal space to prevent re-infection of the tooth, while simultaneously providing antibacterial affects and promoting hard and soft tissue healing. These biocompatible and safe products include endodontic sealers, root-end fillings and root-repair materials, as well as pulp capping materials.

Key features

  • Excellent sealing and antibacterial properties
  • Generates minimal inflammatory response which reduces post-op pain
  • Promotes bone healing around the root
  • Enables pulp repair and regeneration
  • Very biocompatible and safe

Photobiomodulation (PBM)

Targeted laser treatment to reduce inflammation and promote tissue healing. Non-invasive, painless application of red-light therapy to surgical wounds can reduce post-operative inflammation, eliminate pain and improve healing. Treatment of facial muscles can alleviate myofascial pain caused by bruxism or temporomandibular disease (TMD).

Key features

  • Non-invasive procedure that can be performed chairside
  • Effective for preventing post-op pain and reducing chronic pain
  • Reduces muscular inflammation caused by bruxism
  • Safe and well-tolerated
